A great win and some more impossible saves from Jack W.
Overcast skies and a strong wind was blowing over the top of Cookridge when Mustangs kicked off against Bingley Ajax. With the wind behind them constant pressure was put on the Bingley goal but the first event was a breakaway from the visitors which resulted in penalty. Jack W gave him the eyes though and the shot hit the post and Oscar cleared.
Mustangs went back onto the attack but chances weren't taken until Benj' Foulger het a great shot from outside the box e=which the keeper couldn't hold.
1-0 at half time might not have been enough playing up the hill and into the wind though it could have been 2 if ref Keith had been a bit slower on the whistle! Mustangs had to survive some strong attacks and much to the disbelief of the opposition coaches Jack made some amazing saves.
But breakaways were always a possibility with typical strong running from Jack P and Max looking confident. The goal finally came for Max after their keeper had made some good stops to previously.
Bingley came back strong and in-spite of good defensive work by all of the team they finally got e=what could have been the goal to start a comeback.
Mustangs though kept threatening and good work by Max in the box forced a chance to spill to Benj' C who shot home. From there it was a team effort to see the game out and credit to all the boys and the subs who got the 3 points which might help gain 4th place on Sunday.
