06, September, 2009 Friendly Farsley Celtic away great win!-6-1 what a fantastic win enjoyed by both sets of fans and most of all the Super Stallions themselves. Fantastic defence from Elliott, Guy and Louis. Midfield Trojans today were Adam and Luke. Upfront the unstoppable Charlie and Stan. Lets not forget Hamish with his extraordinary goal kick spanning the length of Elland Road.
With Queensbury away being our 1st league fixture our team looks as fresh as mums clean washing. Energy levels rivalled a Duracell battery!
With both Leo and Finbar adding to the squad we are looking forward to some super spectacular matches.
A big thank you to Farsley Celtic for the hospitality and the hotdogs went down a treat! |
13, September, 2009 Friendly HSM Broncos 3-2 to the Stallions!-Great turn out for this pre season friendly. A record crowd of around 30 eagerly awaited this close, well fought epic battle. Hamish in goal again proved that he is worth his weight in gold making many saves throughout the full 40 minutes especially so in the first half. The confident Broncos were first to score but we kept ploughing on and equalised with a low drive from outside the area from Stanley. The hard work of Finbar, Elliot and Luke kept the score line down and the Sidebottom throw-ins made the Olympic shot putting champion quiver. Half time and the Broncos had made it to 2-1. After the break our boys were raring to go with Adam and Guy getting close to equalising and eventually we were successful with an unstoppable shot from Leo. A tense last 5 minutes and the match could have gone either way with sensational saves from both goalies. A winning goal in the last 2 minutes from Stan and the match finished 3-2 to the Stallions who never looked like tiring. Hard work and determination from 2 teams who were very evenly matched gave the spectators some end to end, nail biting but most of all thoroughly entertaining football. |
