31, August, 2010 Welcome Back Everyone-Hello everybody - time to give up those cosy sundays relaxing. Hope everyone is well and rested. Short notice I know but... Practice at Crag Hill at new time of Thursday 5-6pm and we've got a friendly away game vs Leeds City on Sunday - no details as of yet. Also everyone needs to bring £3 for theior ID cards for the new season.
Apparantly we are in a really tough league this year - 5 dropped out to be replaced by the top 5 from the other strong league! However, I am sure we can rise to the challenge once again. I will try to e-mail/text people with all this as it's short notice but hopefully see everyone on Thursday 2nd Sept.
Is it time for a dad's night out yet? | | 02, September, 2010 Sunday's arrangements-We've agreed that games will be 30 mins each (hopefully 8 a side), then the next game will follow on.
Their coach is aware of the abilities of our teams so hopefully will try to match teams accordingley.
Just arrive in enough time to ensure you are warmed up as KO times may vary as games go on.
We may need to share ref duties with Leeds City - basically just agree between yourself & the other coach before kick off.
10.30 - Broncos
11.05 - Mustangs
11.40 - Stallions
12.15 - Colts
Suggest we meet at Horsforth Hall Park as usual at 11.10am and we will be wearing our yellow kit. If you are going straight there text me 07791240809 or Jon or you can e-mail me phil.turner62@yahoo.co.uk
Ground is at Bedquilts in Adel. From Lawnswood Roundabout head towards Adel. Turn right into St Helens Lane then left at crossroads onto Adel Lane. Bedquilts is 300 yards on the right.
Don't forget those registration forms if you haven't done them, £3 and a photograph as I need to send them off and get all the players registered for the new season. See you Sunday | 03, September, 2010 Last minute change for Sunday-KO has been moved forward to 11.10. Meet at Horsforth Park at 10.30am. Will try to contact everyone by alternative means!
| | 05, September, 2010 This week's Practice-Cragg Hill 5.30-6.30pm - prepare to work hard! There is likely to be a game against the Colts next Sunday - provisionally a 12 noon KO. Details on Thursday. | 05, September, 2010 Oh Dear Oh Dear Oh Dear-A disappointing start to the season albeit in a meaningless friendly but Coach Moss had the chance to blood a few new recruits and assess his preseason squad. The Stallions started well, dominating the first 15 minutes with some silky passing and plenty of energy. Turner hit the woodwork twice, once from an inswinging corner and Hughes and Kane both had good efforts saved. Noel-Flint was in excellent form at the back and Davenport showed his usual grit in the tackle. Moss and Bourke were combining well in a busy midfield, Wright had some promising runs up front and battled hard, and it looked like Hartley was not going to be troubled much. However the second half didn't go according to plan. Against the run of play a specualtive cross evaded Hartley and bounced off Davenport's outstretched leg for an og. After that we were chasing the game and although we came close on numerous occassions we just couldn't convert our pressure into goals. A second goal against followed although the ball was clearly over the dead ball line before it was crossed for the Leeds City striker to tap in. Promising debuts from Greenwood and Brockie - two new signings from the close season, but alas the taste of defeat that just mucks up your Sunday Dinner. |
